“Don’t go to bed just yet.â€Those words will still haunt a number of Leeds fans after their club famously posted a tweet on deadline day declaring that there was still business to be done, before announcing two departures. The Elland Road faithful were misled by their club, and it seems as if it’s happening again, but we don’t think too many supporters will mind this time.Indeed, Marcelo Bielsa stated at his press conference on Monday that there would be no more arrivals after Jean-Kevin Augustin came in on loan, but it seems as if the Argentine may have been misleading the fanbase.

What’s been said then?
Reliable journalist Graeme Bailey said not long after Augustin was announced as a Leeds player that the Whites were still in for another forward.
“Jean-Kevin Augustin is a fantastic signing for Leeds – their DOF Victor Orta pulling one out of the bag, as he did on more than one occasion at Middlesbrough. And he and Leeds still are not finished, they want another forward…,” he tweeted.
Of course, his claims were met with some scepticism after Bielsa saying there would be no more arrivals, but Bailey remained adamant that the manager wasn’t telling the whole truth posting:
Not surprising
Does it really come as a surprise to anyone to hear that Bielsa has been hoodwinking fans and journalists with his comments in a press conference?
Everyone ought to know by now that the Argentine does sometimes choose to bend the truth when he feels that it’s beneficial to him or his team.
Just last week Phil Hay called him out on saying that he’d never rejected a signing, and there are numerous other instances of Bielsa lying to the press.
For example, the 64-year-old claimed he’d play Ben White in defensive midfield against Huddersfield in December before going back on that decision when the game actually came around.
Hopefully, the Argentine has pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes yet again and he will spring another transfer surprise this week.
In other news, David Ornstein’s transfer update indicates that Leeds made a mistake back in 2018.
